When I am starting a new project or feeling a little stale on an existing one I like to flip through the children’s book I have lying around the house. I buy them from charity shops, second hand book stores and Etsy which has a bloody brilliant collection that will rip through your bank account with a vengeance.

To me, children’s books are the ultimate thing to get my brain back on track. They are poetic, profound and succinct and if you pile up a big stack on your legs and flip through them, you can cover a lot of visual and literary themes in a very short span of time. Some days i’m drawn to all the drawings of mice, or all the miserable books, or all the ones about Grandma’s, and sometimes I stumble on a bit that’s so good it makes me want to shut the book and get back to work.

I’m been feeling a little stuck on a project today so i’ve piled up some children’s books and am going to flip through them until I unstick.
